Unconventional Art System

The motive of this project is to innovate an unconventional methodology for the system of Art & Expression.  An idea that brings forth conceptual plus critical thinking and collects meaningful data for a future design. 

After a detailed study and observation of the simple tool, paintbrush, and its system of Art & Expression, I realized that its core working mechanism could be altered with the introduction of inversion to it, ultimately creating a whole new approach to art and expression. 

The universal process of creating an artwork requires the applicant (medium) example, paint, to be in motion and the surface the applicant is applied on (media) example, canvas, at complete stability. Therefore, to transform the working of this system, I chose inversion. I established methods to reciprocate the creating process of an artwork. These methods would enable the media to move (canvas) and stabilize its medium (paint).

Here you can see five different motion modules-

1. A pendulum movement mechanism.

2. A rotational movement mechanism.

3. A semi-circular side-to-side movement mechanism.

4. A horizontal side-to-side movement mechanism.

5. An up-down movement mechanism.  

These modules for Art & Expression can be applied in the medical realm of therapy and recovery. They can supplement as a constructive activity for the specially-abled, enabling them to express themselves in newer ways.
